Our family (Christina and Robbie Anderman and sons) has homesteaded in a community in the rolling hills of the Ottawa Valley for over 22 years. With our combined backgrounds of over 50 years of organic gardening and orcharding, many years of coordinating a natural foods buying club and being natural foods chefs and bakers, we knew hempseeds to be a great wholesome food when we tasted them. Inspired by hemp's amazing nutritional benefits, as well as it's potential to help the environment by replacing many polluting products with green ones, we began making and selling organic hempseed foods in 1996. Why Cool Hemp? Christina invented Cool Hemp organic non-dairy frozen dessert over four years ago as a way to bring hempseed's valuable nutrition to people in a fun way while preserving it's natural oils by freezing. Hempseeds are the Earth's only source of essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6 in the correct 1:3 ratio, and they produce more easily digestible complete protein per acre than any other food. We're Committed to Community and the Environment Our Cool Hemp frozen dessert ingredients are certified organic, certified kosher, locally grown, and certified Fairly Traded (no child slave labour in the production of cocoa and sugar, and guaranteed fair prices for farmers). We work together with Tracey's Ice Cream factory in Renfrew to make our batches using the old-fashioned methods that best preserve taste and digestibility. Our home office on Morninglory community farm is solar-powered, with wood and solar heat, and we use only recycled or tree free hemp paper. For our products, we use the most biodegradable packaging we can find - with visions of hemp fibre cartons in the future. In our promotional flyers, we use recycled or hemp paper and vegetable inks. We are proud to bring organic Canadian hemp food products to you. Enjoy!
